Christian Education at Christ Church, Newton

Christian Education is offered from September - June at 9:00 a.m. for children and adults.

Children in grades pre-school through fifth grade meet in age-appropriate classes, and follow the "Living the Good News" curriculum which focuses on the gospel reading each Sunday. All children in grades pre-school through fifth are invited to participate in the annual Christmas pageant, as well as a play which is performed in the spring.

The middle school and high school groups meet separately for Sunday School during the school year. Joint activities are also available throughout the year, culminating in semi-annual Youth Group trips to Panama following the Rite of Confirmation.

Children are welcome in all aspects of our worship program, and are encouraged to participate as they are able. A professionally-staffed nursery is provided for those children who are not comfortable participating in the entire service.

Participants in the Christian Education program at Christ Church Newton include residents of the Sussex County municipalities of Newton, Andover Borough, Andover Township, Branchville Borough, Byram Township, Frankford Township, Franklin Borough, Fredon Township, Green Township, Hamburg Borough, Hampton Township, Hardyston Township, Hopatcong Borough, Lafayette Township, Montague Township, Ogdensburg Borough, Sandyston Township, Sparta Township, Stanhope Borough, Stillwater Township, Sussex Borough, Vernon Township, Walpack Township and Wantage Township; the Warren County municipalities of Allamuchy Township, Blairstown, Frelinghuysen Township, Hardwick Township, Hope Township, and Phillipsburg; and the Pennsylvania communities near Milford.
