Hospitality Events at Christ Church Newton

Activities which include food and beverages are an important part of parish life at Christ Church Newton. Volunteers to assist with these events are always in demand. Coffee Hour

Immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service on Sundays, parishioners are encouraged to meet and mingle over coffee, tea, and assorted pastries, bagels, fruit and other delights. Monthly Church Breakfasts

Parishioners gather for fellowship and breakfast once a month, from September - May, in lieu of Christian Education from 8:45 - 9:30 a.m. Informative presentations often accompany the delicious food, which is prepared by a crew of volunteers.

Easter Vigil Reception

A feast of barbecued lamb and Greek delicacies is served immediately following the Easter Vigil each year.

Annual Church Picnic

All parishioners and their loved ones are encouraged to enjoy games and a barbecue on a designated Sunday during June. The church provides hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages; side dishes and desserts are provided by church members.

Parishioners gather to celebrate and share a festive meal at the annual Stewardship Dinner.

Concert Receptions

Concerts and musical events take place frequently at Christ Church. These events are often followed by a reception of appetizers and desserts catered by volunteers.

Sunday School Party

Children and parents are invited to kick off the Sunday School year with a festive event including food, games and outdoor activities.

Lenten Potluck Suppers

On Wednesdays, during the season of Lent, the Holy Eucharist is celebrated at 6:00 p.m. A pot luck dinner follows at 6:30 p.m., with a presentation and discussion following at 7:00 p.m. Parishioners are invited to attend as they are able.
